Ben is a very nice black boy with the kindest face, white back toes and a couple of scars on his nose (all the better to kiss) and is approx 25.5" to the shoulder so can curl up nice and small next to you on the sofa and 3 years of age.
Location: Currently in a kennel in Suffolk. Ben would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now with a lot of dogs in kennels, sucking up our finances, any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Very kind, friendly, calm, can be shy, beautifully behaved with people, clean in kennel, travels well, takes treats gently, gets on very well with other greyhounds and good on the lead.
~ Personality ~
Mr Ben is a friendly, kind, calm boy with the sweetest of faces. He keeps his kennel as clean as he possibly can and can be a little shy. A real honey in need of a loving family. His coat his quite dull at the moment but he will absolutely blossom once he is adopted and settled. We look forward to seeing photos of him shining like a mirror!
~ In the Home ~
Sadly Ben hasn't been in a home yet but he settled very calmly and quietly into his kennel and tries so hard to keep it nice and clean so we think he will be a dream getting used to living within a home environment with a kind and gentle family to show him the ropes.
~ Other Animals ~
Mr Ben gets on really well with his fellow greyhounds, but hasn't met any small dogs yet.
~ Out and About ~
Ben is great on the lead and travels well. He likes his walks and would love the chance to go on adventures with his own family. Like most greyhounds Ben would be happy with 2 30 minute walks a day with a chance to stretch his legs off lead a couple of times a week. This would need to be in an enclosed area away from livestock and public roads.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Ben is a really lovely boy and we feel he would fit in to most home environments but will need someone around most of the time to help him settle into home life. Please be aware that we do not home dogs to families with children under 8 years of age. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Suffolk to meet and collect him.
~ Where Am I? ~
Ben is in kennels in Suffolk. If anyone feels they could foster Ben to help him on his journey to a forever home, please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Ben will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure. RESERVED
If you would like to offer a new home for Ben, please contact the rescue on 075 000 626 48 and ask for Bronwen or send them an email if available.
