Monty is a polite, gentle chap but also has a real character about him and a little cheekiness too. Everyone who meets him is smitten. He's clean in the house and sleeps quietly at night without any fuss at all.
He loves his walks and his favourite thing is a good zoom off lead. He can sometimes get distracted by squirrels or rabbits so in a safe, enclosed area is best for him. He loves sunbathing and mooching around the garden and after his walk is happy to snooze the day away in a comfy bed.
Monty could live with a family where people work - he understands that money needs to be earned to pay for lots of lovely treats for him. As long as he is exercised beforehand he's happy to be left alone for a few hours.
At the moment, he's in foster with a lovely, gentle Cocker Spaniel girl and doing really well. He can be a little possessive of his bed & toys (only to other dogs, not to his people) and we think that's because he's used to being an only dog in the home. In is perfect forever home he would ideally be the only dog so that he can be the centre of his family's world, but he equally could live with a steady medium/large dog.
In his foster home, Monty's mum isn't able to give him the exercise he needs so we have Paul, a lovely dog walker, who takes him out every day and reports back that he is brilliant on lead. He can be a little barky at cyclists and small dogs but now he knows that it's easily managed. So, if you feel that Monty could be your ideal companion but are worried about the exercise aspect that could be an option.
Monty has been waiting patiently for his forever home and although he loves his foster mum & furry foster sister, it's time he had his very own forever sofa.
Do you have a Monty sized space in your home & heart? He will return your love 100 times over with his funny, affectionate and loyal ways.
